My
Journey
to
Introspection
Traveling
has
always
been
my
go-to
remedy
for
stress
relief.
But
my
most
recent
trip
has
been
different
from
all
my
previous
travels.
Instead
of
merely
enjoying
the
sights
and
sounds
of
a
new
place,
I
tried
to
find
a
deeper
connection
with
myself.
I
spent
a
week
on
a
remote
island
in
Southeast
Asia,
without
any
social
media,
emails
or
phone
calls,
trying
to
disconnect
myself
from
the
external
world.
As
I
wandered
through
the
lush
forests,
sparkling
beaches,
and
quaint
villages,
I
began
to
realize
how
small
I
was
in
this
vast
world,
and
for
the
first
time,
I
felt
humbled
and
insignificant
in
a
good
way.
I
started
to
focus
on
my
inner
thoughts
and
feelings,
something
I
had
never
done
before.
I
reflected
upon
my
life,
my
goals,
my
passions,
and
my
relationships.
I
tried
to
assess
myself
from
a
third-party
perspective
and
tried
to
understand
the
impact
of
my
actions
on
others.
I
also
interacted
with
the
locals,
listening
to
their
stories
and
learning
about
their
culture.
I
found
myself
marveling
at
their
simple
yet
meaningful
lives,
something
that
I
always
took
for
granted.
As
I
left
the
island,
packing
my
bags
and
saying
my
goodbyes,
I
knew
that
I
was
returning
as
a
changed
person.
I

had
found
a
deeper
understanding
of
myself
and
realized
the
true
value
of
life,
and
had
become
more
mindful
and
empathetic
towards
others.
In
retrospect,
I
realize
that
traveling
is
not
just
about
visiting
tourist
spots,
or
ticking
off
items
from
your
bucket
list.
It
is
about
finding
yourself,
discovering
the
beauty
of
humanity,
and
transcending
the
boundaries
of
your
own
perspective.
